South Africa and Zimbabwe want their sound political relations to translate into economic benefits for their citizens.
The two countries will hold a session of their Bi-National Commission in Harare on Thursday.
The one day meeting will be co-chaired by President Jacob Zuma and his Zimbabwean counterpart Robert Mugabe.
Sound relations do exist between South Africa and Zimbabwe and this is evident by the signing of 38 bilateral agreements between the two nations.
Again more than 120 South African companies are doing business in Zimbabwe.
With a two-way trade of less than R30 billion both countries now want to increase the trade volumes.
International Relations and Co-operation Minister, Maite Nkoane-Mashabane, says the newly established BNC could unlock the economic potential of the two sister republics.
