Cape Town – Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus believes that Saturday’s Test match against England will be a massive test of character as the home side will be desperate for victory at Twickenham.
The match launches the Springboks’ four-match end of season tour, which will also see them play France, Scotland and Wales.
Erasmus named a side with a brand new loose trio combination on Thursday that sees the return of Duane Vermeulen, who missed the entire Rugby Championship earlier this year.
He will start at flank together with captain Siya Kolisi while Warren Whiteley fills the No 8 role.
“This match will be a huge tactical affair with much of the outcome depending on how you handle the set phases and kicking game,” said Erasmus at the naming of the Bok team.
The Springboks are expecting a massive onslaught from the home side after handing them a 2-1 defeat when they toured South Africa in June.
“England will be desperate to win this one at Twickenham,” said Erasmus.
Saturday’s Test kicks off at 17:00 (SA time).
