Media personality Bonang Matheba announced on Friday that she’s been named the global brand ambassador for cosmetic brand Revlon.
In 2013 she was announced as the first local face of Revlon, a deal rumoured to be worth tens of millions of rands.
“I think it hit me only about five minutes before I saw the billboard – there were tears. I’ve known for almost six months and I’ve been dying [to tell people]. I’m proud that I was chosen out of thousands of girls. I’d been approached by three brands before, but I wanted something close to what Bonang was about – women. I’m glad I waited,” Matheba told Times Live soon after clinching the deal.
She joins the likes of Halle Berry and Emma Watson who are also global brand ambassador.
Matheba was recently flown to New York to shoot her first Colourstay campaign.
She posted on her Instagram account: “Proud to announce… I’m now a Revlon GLOBAL brand ambassador…. My new Colourstay campaign was shot in New York and will launch on April 2nd 2016…. Look out for it!! From Africa to the WORLD!! #blackgirlmagic #revlon #chooselove“
In a previous DESTINY interview, the Top Billing presenter said that her success was due to her hard work and loving what she does.
