The popular Local actress Diaan Lawrenson, who became popular as the ditzy blonde Paula van der Lecq on the popular Afrikaans soapie 7de Laan, took us down memory lane with a lovely throwback photo of her time on the show.
“Facebook memory- 3 years. This guy and I played on screen boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife for 11 years. That is a long time,” she captioned two adorable photos on Instagram of herself with her on-screen husband Altus de Bruyn, played by Heino Schmitt.
The Hillside power couple eventually called it quits when Altus had an affair.
Both actors joined 7de Laan soon after the soapie was launched in 2000 and a tumultuous 11-year love affair followed, until Diaan left the soapie in 2016.
“A lot happened during those 11 years. We shared in each other’s joy and sadness. I look at this photos with such fondness and love. I salute the time I spent at the Laan and I salute the journey I have taken after,” she added in the caption.
In the post she also said that she was happy the pair are still friends.
