3. Wale.

We all know Wale right? Who doesn’t know Wale the Hip-hop artist? His real names are actually Olubowale Victor Akintimehin and he is Nigerian. How about that? Wale and his family moved to the US when he was 10 years old and he was raised in Washington DC.

4. Lupita Nyong’o.

Lupita Nyong’o is a Kenyan actress based in the US. She shot to fame because of the movie “12 Years a Slave” and was also featured on the latest Jay-Z’s music video. She also won an award which made her even more popular.

5. Chiwetel  Ejiofor.

Many people know Chiwetel  Ejiofor to be a British actor, but he is actually of Nigerian descent. He became popular because of the movie “12 Years a Slave.

6. Christine Wawira.

Christine Wawira is an upcoming Hollywood actress, popularly known as Naila Pierce. She is actually Kenyan. She has been featured in movies such as Blacklisted and Sign of the Dragon.

7. Uzo Aduba.

We all know her from the series “Orange is the new black” as “Crazy Eyes” for which she was awarded an Emmy Award.  Her real names are Uzo Aduba and she was born in Houston. Her Nigerian parents are from Enugu.


8. Rotimi

Olurotimi Akinosho, better known by his stage name, Rotimi, is a Nigerian-American actor, Singer, and model. He’s best known for his role as Darius Morrison on the Starz Network’s Boss and currently, stars as Andre Coleman on Power.
