Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2016 which took place at the Grand Palais in Paris on Wednesday night was like no other fashion show we have seen this year. Talk of saving the best for last. Models donning spectacular lingerie creations were the center of attraction. The glitterati of fashion enjoyed the show which was a mixture of fashion, fantasy and entertainment.

In addition to the racy models slaying on the runway, high-profile celebrities and pop stars made the event a memorable one. The American underwear brand is not just good at organising glamorous events, since its inception in the mid 90s it has recorded great progress. In fact, the brand reportedly enjoyed revenues of $7.2 billion in 2014/15.

One of the lingerie that will remain fresh in our minds is the dazzling bling-encrusted Fantasy Bra worn by California model Jasmine Tookes. The state of the art bra is worth a hair-raising $3million. The masterpiece was created by jeweller Eddie Borgo using 9000 precious stones and it 700 hours to create. Also, the bra weighed in at more than 450 carats.

Little wonder why model Jasmine Tookes, who was chosen to wear the Fantasy Bra, told Reuters TV she was freaking out before taking to the runway. “I was freaking out backstage,” she said.“I was so scared I would walk on the runway and start tearing up, but I kept it together.”

The victoria’s Secret fashion show 2016 also had other models, including Kendall Jenner, sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid, and Adriana Lima known wear the company’s large wings adorned in feathers, sequence and satin and posed as Angels.

Lady Gaga, The Weekend and Bruno Mars performed on the runway while the models slayed on the catwalk. The show will be broadcast on Dec. 5 in more than 190 countries.
