President Jacob Zuma is expected to address the centenary celebrations of the University of Fort Hare later on Friday morning.
His Zimbabwean counterpart Robert Mugabe will also be among the alumni guests expected to attend.
The university also produced leaders like former Zambian President Kenneth Kaunda, the late President Nelson Mandela and Tanzanian President, Julius Nyerere, among others.
Some students at Fort Hare have vowed to disrupt today’s centenary celebrations. However, the university has since secured a court interdict against such.
The order was granted by the Bisho High Court and it’s believed that student leaders including the SRC at the institution have been notified of the interdict.
Police Minister, Nathi Nhleko, has promised maximum security for dignitaries, past and presents students as well as ordinary people who will be attending the celebrations.
