Some Of The favourite Looks From The 2016 SAFTAs Red Carpet

The 2016 SAFTAs Red Carpet was all glitz and glam, with the brightest South African talent showing off local and international designers

South African actors and industry greats were honoured at the 2016 South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) this past weekend. The technical awards were handed on out Friday, 18 March while the shows and on-screen talent were honoured on Sunday, 20 March (See below for the full list of winners).

The dazzling Red Carpet was the talk of the town. As one of the official hosts for the evening, Minnie Dlamini went from Grecian goddess, to ice princess, to whimsical fairy in Gert-Johann Coetzee ensembles for her various outfit changes, while Bonang Matheba made a bold statement in an elegant black and silver dress. She was dressed by international designer Law Roach for her E! Africa Red Carpet debut alongside Maps Maponyane.

Below are some of our favourite looks from the red carpet. (Before you browse, can we take a minute to discuss Vusi Kunene’s fierce suit?! We were never ready for that one, but he absolutely pulled it off!)
