Whether you’re celebrating a birthday or just need some alone time with your ladies, Cape Town abounds with so much to keep you and your buddies busy. Here are some ideas of what to occupy your time and just where to go for pampering…
Day Spa – Start the day off at Stillness Manor and Spa in Tokai. You’ll pass Tokai forest, mountains on your right and beautiful properties filled with trees, stables and flower bushes. Once inside Stillness manor, you will already have let some of yesterday’s tension go. On a hot day, enjoy lazing beside their outdoor swimming pool whilst sipping large amounts of lemon water. Don a fluffy spa robe and choose the treatment of your choice; massage, manicure, pedicure or a wax. Do a few laps in the warmer indoor pool and just enjoy a time of reading magazines and time to chatter with the ladies.

Now it’s time to show off just how wonderfully your skin is glowing and head out for lunch. Take a drive out to Stellenbosch. You have a wide range of choices of lunch spots within this little town beneath the old oak trees or venture to a wine estate especially if you’re in the mood for a glass or red or white wine.
Now is the perfect time to go for a High Tea at the Vineyard Hotel. Sit out on the terrace and enjoy a Lady Anne’s afternoon tea with treats such as finger sandwiches, fruit tartlets, cheesecake and quiche to mention but a few. For only R105 per person, you will be served a variety of scrumptious treats on a three-tiered stand a tea of your choice. Walking down into their garden and beside the flowing river will make you feel like you’ve left the city and emerged in a magical forest.

If you’re in the mood for a drink and a dance, head to town. On a summer’s night, the roof of the Waiting Room is a great place to take your cocktails and hang out beneath the stars, in view of Table Moutain and within earshot of the sexy beats floating up from downstairs. The lounge area doubles up as a dance floor and come Friday night, this place is pumping with an array of Cape Town’s best djs spinning their good stuff.
If you’re closer to Kalk Bay, grab a couch at Polana and enjoy the fireside and live band whilst you look out over the rocks and sip your cosmopolitans.
