SAA employees say while they appreciate the president’s visit and encouragement, there are a number of issues facing workers.

“We are here to enrich other people out of our own sweat and it’s a toxic environment. At SAA blacks are still undermined.”

Myeni says racism is a big problem and management takes it seriously.

“The issue of racism is very rife and we have asked the CEO to set up a team in his office, who will advise on how to deal with issues of racism.”

The president says he’s noted the employees concerns and is waiting in anticipation to see how the board handles the problems.
