we have heard people say that the best way to avoid pant lines is to avoid wearing pant at all, but that is not true.
There are things you can do to limit your risk of visible pant lines (VPLs) without forgoing underwear altogether.
1. Wear thicker fabrics with more texture.
If you want to wear something tight on the bottom, jersey, silk, and other lightweight, slinky fabrics are not your friends. They’re too smooth and clingy. Save them for looser silhouettes that skim the body, rather than gripping it. Prints can sometimes be an effective means of masking VPLs, but if you really want to go tight, stick to textured fabrics, which help mask whatever lumps and lines might be lurking underneath.
2. Layer with tights or pantyhose.
A thin pair of tights or pantyhose should smooth out any lines you might have otherwise and they won’t add any bulk to your look. Promise.
3. Choose laser-cut underwear.

4. Try an old-school slip.
Just make sure to run both the skirt and the slip through a wire hanger a few times before you put them on to discharge any static electricity.
5. Use what the professionals use.
There’s a reason professional stylist use thongs and G-strings exclusively. They might not be as comfy as a big ol’ pair of granny panties, but they work, and, honestly, G-strings are really not as bad as all that as long as they are not too tight.
6. If thongs just really aren’t your thing, try boyshorts.
Boyshorts are great because they go under the butt cheek instead of cutting across it. A little lace is also good for making the line less abrupt and not so noticeable. Just make sure it is a flat lace, so it doesn’t look lumpy under tight clothes.
