Kaizer Chiefs will have to wait for the results of medical tests on Philani Zulu after he picked up an injury against Bidvest Wits over the weekend.
The 25-year-old had to be taken off early in the second half of the 1-1 draw with Wits following a problem with his ankle, with Siphiwe Tshabalala slipping into the left wingback position to cover him.
Now, with the Glamour Boys turning their attention to facing Golden Arrows in the Nedbank Cup, Steve Komphela will be hoping that he will not have to reshuffle his defence once again.
Speaking of Zulu’s situation at the weekend, he told the media “I don’t want to commit. We still have to go to our medics and check, but his ankle got twisted. I hope it’s nothing major…”
Only three players have played more games for Chiefs than Zulu this season, and he has played a major role in helping Komphela’s side maintain their record of having the best defence in the Absa Premiership.
