The Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) are carrying out an investigation into Bell Pottinger’s conduct whilst working for the Guptas.
The firm is accused of ‘ethically compromising practices’ for their role in using social media to discredit those who questioned the relationship between the government and the Guptas.
BP is also responsible for creating and pushing the ‘white monopoly capital’ agenda, which pins the blame of economic recession on rich white capitalist; a notion as absurd as it is dangerous.
Now the Gupta puppets face a serious deluge of sanctions if they are found guilty, and the evidence is certainly there.
It’s been a remarkably bad few weeks for the Public Relations firm, who could do with an image change themselves after a series of embarrassing incidents:
In the last month…
. A successful petition was launched to have the Bell Pottinger issue discussed in UK parliament after it reached 10,000 signatures.
. Both the company and managing director’s Twitter pages were locked after a barrage of hostile criticism from South Africans
. They were labelled as ‘ethically blind’ by Jimmy Wales, co-founder of Wikipedia. Time to call it a day when Wikipedia calls you unreliable, isn’t it?
The PRCA decided to take action when they received a complaint from the DA, who had lodged formal complaints about the former Gupta employees promoting racial hatred.
A spokesperson for the Democratic Alliance – Phumzile Van Damme – has stressed that “any attempt by a PR agency to ferment racial divisions in South Africa cannot be tolerated”.
Bell Pottinger has been severely stung following the #GuptaLeaks email scandal. They ended their association with the Indian billionaires in April, by which point they had already sewed their seeds of poor conduct.
Good luck putting a positive spin on this one, guys.
