Find Out How Google Can Help You Find Cheaper Flights

Google is helping users find cheap flights, through the launch of its ‘Flights’ service ahead of the holiday season.

The website works like any other flight searching service. However, when signed into Google, it is able to save routes and notify users when cheaper flights are available.

Users will see a pop-up notification on their Chrome browser or on their smartphone of the time at which flights to saved destinations can be purchased the cheapest price.

Google Flights also track the history of routes’ pricing and other data, while bookings can also be made through the site.

So far, the app only features flight prices for SAA and BA. But prices for Kulula, Mango and Safair are currently unavailable on the app at this stage.

Flights will work alongside Google’s Trips app, while the website is also optimised for mobile browsers.

Meanwhile, Google also recently launched its ‘Assistant’ technology, allowing users to have a natural conversation between themselves and the search engine.

The Pixel smartphone from Google is the first phone with Assistant built in.

“With Google Home, our voice-activated speaker powered by the Google Assistant, just say ‘Ok Google’ to get answers and help around the house,” said Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
