Escape to the Knysna Heads


Knysna-headsThe Knysna Heads are two large cliffs that face each other and jut out into the Knysna Lagoon, providing agateway into it, almost protecting the lagoon from the rough seas. On the eastern side of the lagoon one can enjoy spectacular views, Leisure Isle and Knysna itself.

The western side is a privately owned nature reserve (Featherbed Nature Reserve) that you can visit by ferry. Here are a few activities you can partake in:

  • Cruising on the lagoon (includes champagne and oysters)
  • Restaurants and bar facilities
  • Nature Trails
  • Hiking

Another relaxing way of enjoying the Knysna Heads is to visit the East Head Café where you can have a wonderful meal and some refreshing beverages while taking in the tranquility and soothing colours of the ocean view.
