This scenic village lies between the Riviersonderend mountains and hills of the Overberg and between two rivers.  You’ll find oak-lined streets, thatched cottages and old homesteads which have been beautifully renovated. You can experience a weekend in true country style. If you do the Boesmanskloof Trail during the Winter months, you can see nine waterfalls which all rush into the river far below.  The trail takes you from Greyton to McGregor through the Riviersonderend mountains over 32 km.  If you’re doing at a relaxed pace, it will take you about five hours.

It’s no secret that everyone wants to eat more in Winter. Well this is a place you can find delicious, home-made food which you don’t have to make yourself.  Sweet treats, cakes, jams and local meats abound in the delis and bakerys around town. Don’t miss the Saturday morning market where fresh meals, arts and crafts as well as fresh produce can be found.  For wine lovers who love indulging in a glass of red wine by the fire, you can pop into any one of Greyton’s boutique wine producers. Garagiste style wines of Andy Mitchell Wines and other hand crafted blends such as those coming from Lismore estate Vineyards and are well worth a tasting once you’ve made an appointment.
