Corona SunSets Festival In South Africa

I love watching sunsets and taking pictures of it. So, when ‘boss lady’ Kiki asked me if I wanted to join her for an event this past Sunday, I didn’t even read the invitation properly I just saw the word ‘sunset’ and instantly agreed to join her! I kept imagining how the venue would look like and if it will give us that perfect view of the sunset, thank gaaard the weather Lords are still giving us way too much sun and because of that, with great food, good music, beautiful people, a good ambiance and a cool Corona beer, the sunset and the experience as a whole was beautiful!

Here is what you need to know about the event…
Globally, the festival is an immersive experience that combines music, food and local culture, and the recent South African launch event mirrored the larger festivals.

Corona SunSets has been launched in more than 20 markets across the globe through over 150 events of varying sizes and intimacy – giving everyone a taste of summer and celebrating the magical sunset hour. Central to the Corona SunSets program are six immersive, large-scale but still intimate and laid-back festival experiences on four continents. Corona Sunsets kicked off in the brand’s home of Mexico to a sold out crowd and went on to the United Kingdom, Italy, Ibiza, China and Australia, amongst others.

The way we got lost to get to the venue, yhuu! This is the beautiful Katy’s Palace Bar, it has an amazing roof top and a backdrop of Sandton. The place is super cool with beautiful touches of eclectic mix of furniture and décor as well as fine arts pieces.

There was alcohol everywhere *beer haven I tell ya* :-) ! Corona is a light beer, it’s actually quite nice.

The DJs played nice and laid back house music, he has his eyes closed. I guess the music was speaking to his soul. :-)

And it was a wrap!

Corona Global Sunsets Music Festival is a good way to kick back and relax under the beautiful skies as each venue is set in a way that people can experience the sunset, be it at a beach or a roof top venue. Katy’s Palace Bar was a great venue to watch the sun go down while mingling, eating, drinking and listening to music. I am totally enjoying that SA is becoming a destination for some super cool international events
