Cape Town International Crowned Best Airport In Africa

On top of that, Cape Town International staff came out tops as Best Airport staff in Africa at the SkyTrax World airport Awards hosted in Germany on Wednesday, March 16.

According to Alan Winde, Western Cape minister of economic opportunities, the survey included more than 13 million passengers worldwide.

Winde made special mention of Dean Cloete, Cape Town International’s general manager, and his team.

“Cape Town International Airport is consistently ranked as one of the best in the world. As one of the first touch points visitors have when they reach our region, the airport team make sure tourists feel welcome here. These awards speak to the high standard of service the Western Cape is internationally known for,” Winde said.

Now, while Cape Town takes the cake, the top three in Africa are all South African airports and six out of the top 10 are from SA. Pretty decent performances for Mzanzi all-round.

Here’s the top 10 list of best airports in Africa:

1 Cape Town
2 Johannesburg
3 Durban King Shaka
4 Mauritius
5 East London
6 Port Elizabeth
7 Cairo
8 Bloemfontein
9 Seychelles
10 Marrakech
