Bidvest Wits winger Vincent Pule has confirmed that he will be joining Kaizer Chiefs in the new season.
Reports emerged during the January transfer window that Pule had signed a pre-contract with Amakhosi, but at the time, neither party was able to deny or confirm the reports.
His coach, Gavin Hunt, could only confirm in mid-January that the 25-year-old would definitely be leaving the Students for a ‘big club’ in July.
Pule is in the final few months of his current deal with the Students, and he’s already looking forward to joining the Glamour Boys in the upcoming campaign.
The Qwaqwa-born attacker said the time had come for him to take his game to the next level, hence the decision to leave Wits for Chiefs ahead of the 2018/19 PSL season.
“As a person, you have to try new challenges and this (move to Chiefs) is my next one. The time had come for me to take my game to the next step,” Pule was quoted as saying by The Sowetan .
Pule has been with the Braamfontein-based outfit for the past four years after joining them from African Warriors in 2014.
However, he only managed to break into Hunt’s starting line-up on a regular basis two seasons ago.
He’s intending to honour the remaining months of his contract by helping Wits win the Nedbank Cup which gets underway on Wednesday night.
Ahead of Pule lies the challenge of fighting for a place in the starting line-up with the likes of Siphiwe Tshabalala and Edmore Chirambadare.
Chiefs have not replaced George Lebese since his departure to Mamelodi Sundowns at the start of the current campaign, and Pule will be a welcome addition to the Soweto giants.
Pule has featured 18 times for the Clever Boys this season and scored three goals on top of the three assists he has under his belt.
