Beyoncé came back to the place where she grew up, Houston to give solace to those caught in the Hurricane Harvey, letting them know: “This is more of a festival of survival.”
Joined by her mom, eldest little girl and previous Destiny’s Child mate Michelle Williams, Beyoncé chatted with evacuees on Friday at the St. John’s Church, where she grew up singing.
She wiped away tears as she listened to their stories, including from a group of 16 that fled to Houston after Hurricane Katrina and this time got away from their home through a window.
Beyoncé told them : “The things that truly matter are your well being and your kids, and your family and your life.”
