A group of techies in Sandton has developed a new app, called Giraffe, to help employers and job-seekers find each other.
Giraffe, which works on the simplest of cellphones, allows you to submit CVs and apply for jobs — at no charge.
It recently won a prestigious award in Switzerland.
Giraffe founder Shafin Anwarsha says the ultimate aim is to reduce unemployment.
“What we found was that a large part of unemployment was caused because job-seekers didn’t have access or visibility to job opportunities and then you had employers who struggled to find good staff.”
