Nightlife pick of the weekend: Engelbert Humperdinck Concert
The renowned Engelbert Humperdinck is set to grace our pretty shores on Saturday, 21 November 2015 at the GrandWest Grand Arena stage for the Cape Town leg of the international Engelbert Calling tour. 2. Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition
One of the world’s most popular exhibitions, Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition officially opens at the Watershed at the V&A Waterfront on Sunday, 22 November 2015. Paying tribute to the many lives that were lost when the ship sunk on her maiden voyage on 15 April 1912, the exhibition aims to retell their stories through an array of artifacts recovered from the sea floor. Then gather the whole family and head along Route 62 to De Krans Wine Cellar between Saturday, 21 November and Sunday, 6 December 2015 to pick apricots and between Wednesday, 16 and Sunday, 27 December 2015 to pick peaches. What’s more, the winery is known as much for their port and innovative wine varieties as their fruit – it’s truly a win-win situation for the whole clan!
5. Red Bull LionHeart
Attention all trail enthusiasts! Time trial entries for the Red Bull LionHeart Challenge, taking place on Sunday, 6 December 2015, close on Monday, 23 November 2015, so make sure you get your final times in! Cape Town’s very own trail superstar Ryan Sandes founded the event with the aim to highlight one of the Mother City’s finest routes and with all this in mind the #TamingTheLion underground time trial, up-and-back route was created. 6. Ajax Cape Town vs SuperSport United at Athlone Stadium
In an upcoming Absa Premiership League battle, Cape Town’s Ajax team is set to take on Pretoria’s SuperSport United in yet another heated encounter on Saturday, 21 November 2015 at 8:15pm. Tickets to the game can be purchased online via Computicket.com for R40p/p.
7. Four:30 Operas at the Artscape Theatre
Taking place from Saturday, 21 November to Saturday, 28 November 2015, the much anticipated Four:30 Operas Concert returns to the Mother City’s iconic Artscape Theatre Centre where four renowned local composers create contemporary homegrown shows that truly reflect our diverse heritage.
