Congratulations are in order for all the Bonang Matheba Bursary Fund lucky recipients. TV personality Bonang Matheba ‘Queen B’ announced the names of 10 students who have received the aid.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, Bonang wrote;

Bonang Matheba Bursary Fund!! Here’s to a magical year… all the best with your studies!!! Make me PROUD!!! Grateful for all my amazing blessings, blessings that allow me to have a positive impact in people’s lives… Remember: God gives TO you, so He can give THROUGH you… let’s all strive to be tributaries of LOVE & POSITIVITY… Well done girls. #BlackGirlMagic.”

Last year, the TV presenter, model and radio called on all women and girls with a Matric certificate and a dream to study further to apply and stand a chance to be awarded one of 10 bursaries to study at any Boston College of their choice.

Also, those who were currently in Grade 12 were allowed to apply. The applicants were required to send a motivational letter of how a bursary would change them. Attached to the application would be a copy of their Matric certificate and the name of their nearest Boston branch and study dreams. Subsequently, B assessed the applications and came up with ten names as promised.

Here are the names of the Bonang Matheba Bursary Fund recipients;

An excited fan, who found herself on the list of the lucky students to benefit from the Bonang Matheba Bursary Fund shared the good news on Twitter and wrote;

“Bonang freaking Matheba is taking me to school????” Karen Mthethwa captioned her tweet. A post to which Bonang replied; I am. Congratulations baby. Let’s do it!!

Notably, Karen had been at home for two years with absolutely no hope of getting a university degree. Nonetheless, she now has a different story to tell. Bonang is literally writing her name on the walls of history especially with her contribution to charity. Last year, media star Bonang Matheba secretly extended a helping hand to a student in need.

The student named Asanda needed financial assistance to pay her tuition fees, promising to pay back with good grades. As a result, Asanda, reached out to her followers on Twitter to help her raise R6 110 for her second semester fees.

The post went viral and Bonang secretly reached out to the damsel in distress. This proves that aside dominating billboards and fashion campaigns around the world, our dearest Bonang is also charitable to the core. Now if all the celebrities keep doing stuff like this, i’m sure the world will be a better place.
