The Sunday Times reported over the weekend that 5 travelers boarded luxury private jet from Johannesburg last weekend . The expense is thought to be around R220 000.
On-board the jet was the Deputy Trade and Industry Minister Mzwandile Masina as well as Ekurhuleni Regional Treasurer Thembinkosi Nciza and his wife, singer Nhlanhla Nciza, former ANC secretary in the Western Cape Songezo Mjongile and Gauteng ANC official Anda Bici, according TO the paper.
The Sunday Times say that pictures which were posted on social media showed the above people on the jet. These pictures were later deleted.
The paper says that everyone on board was on their way to attend the African National Congress’ (ANC) manifesto launch in Port Elizabeth.
However, there is no clarity over who paid for the flight. Thembinkosi told the paper that he was under the impression that Mjongile paid for the flight and that questions surrounding the trip were out of order.
Masina meanwhile said that he just “got a lift” in the jet after missing his flight to PE.
